Tried fabric pots vs plastic nursery pots for my balcony tomatoes and the difference was crazy
Fabric pots dried out twice as fast so I had to water every single day but my rootbound plastic pot plant barely grew at all. Has anyone else had way better luck with one type over the other for hot balcony spots?

Buddy's fabric pot tomatoes turned into crispy sticks on his south facing deck.

Yeah I had the same problem with fabric pots on my back porch last summer. They dried out so fast I was watering twice a day and still had some plants wilt on the really hot afternoons. The plastic pots held moisture way better but I had to watch out for roots circling around the bottom. My best luck came from using fabric pots but setting them inside a shallow plastic tray so the soil stayed damp longer without drowning the roots. It is a real balancing act when you have that hot concrete bouncing heat back up at the plants all day.
