That neighbor who insisted on grow lights was actually right
My neighbor Linda kept telling me my cherry tomatoes were leggy because they weren't getting enough sun on my north-facing balcony in Seattle. I argued with her for weeks about it, saying natural light should be enough. After 3 months of tiny, pale fruit, I finally bought a $40 LED grow light from Amazon. Now my plants are producing like crazy, and I had to admit she knew what she was talking about. Has anyone else had a know-it-all give advice that turned out to be spot on?

Funny how sometimes the people who annoy us the most end up teaching us the biggest lessons.

Guess that explains why my neighbor who blasts polka music at 6am has been such a life coach lately. I learned that earplugs are actually a form of self-care even if they look ridiculous at the breakfast table. That guy taught me more about patience than any yoga class ever did which is really saying something. Though I have to admit the lessons usually hit hardest when I'm trying to figure out how to avoid them like a ninja. Still not convinced I needed to learn how to deep breathe through a polka bass line though.
