My neighbor told me my balcony tomatoes were too crowded and she was right

I had 6 tomato plants crammed into a 3 foot wide balcony planter box. My neighbor who grows herbs said they would never get enough air flow like that. So I pulled out 3 of them and gave them to a friend. Within two weeks the remaining plants had way less yellow leaves and started producing fruit. Has anyone else had to make a tough decision about thinning out plants you wanted to keep?

Buddy of mine had to cull half his pepper plants last spring. Heartbreaking but they bounced back huge.

she was right" haha neighbors are always watching aren't they. I had the same thing with my basil last summer, I planted like 8 plants in one pot and they all got leggy and sad. Ended up giving half to my mom and they did great after that. Sometimes you just gotta trust the person with the herbs.
