My cherry tomato plant got way too heavy and almost fell over last week

I see a lot of people using those small plastic pots for big plants like tomatoes. The problem is the roots get cramped and the top gets too heavy for the base. I switched mine to a 5-gallon fabric pot from the garden center, and the difference is huge. It's way more stable and the plant looks happier. What size pots do you all use for your biggest balcony veggies?

That 5-gallon fabric pot is a good move for stability. I've found tomatoes can still get a bit root-bound in that size by the end of the season, especially the big slicing types. My Cherokee Purples really took off when I gave them a 10-gallon container. The fabric helps, but the extra soil volume is what keeps them from tipping over when they're loaded with fruit.

My 5-gallon pots always do fine.
