My brother told me to freeze my cookie dough balls for 30 minutes before baking
I always got flat, greasy cookies until he gave me that tip last weekend. Tried it with my usual chocolate chip recipe and they came out perfectly thick and chewy. Does that short freeze really make that big a difference for other types of dough?

Oh totally, it's a game changer! That quick freeze solidifies the butter so the cookies don't spread into a puddle right away. I do it with my peanut butter and sugar cookie dough too, works every time. Even 15 minutes in the freezer makes a huge difference if you're in a rush.

Also helps the flavors blend better.

Totally feel you on this, @margaret_bennett3 is right about the flavor thing too. It's such a solid trick for keeping cookies from turning into flat discs, 15 mins really does save the batch.
