My aunt's church bake sale in Toledo taught me to stop blaming my oven

I always thought my oven ran hot, but my aunt made me use her 40 year old church kitchen stove and my cookies came out perfect on the first try. Turns out I was opening the door too much and my rack was too high. Anyone else blaming their gear when it's really their own habits?
