That 1999 magazine article saying the internet would crash in 2000 still haunts me
I was cleaning out my dad's basement last month and found a PC World from December 1999 with an article predicting the internet would collapse under its own weight by 2002. The writer was dead serious, said online shopping would never take off because people didn't trust credit cards on the web. Now I run a moving company and book 60% of my jobs through my website. Anyone else got old tech predictions they found that aged like milk?

Did you see the one from the 90s where they said nobody would ever buy groceries online? My mom still brings that up every time her Amazon Fresh delivery shows up.

That line "nobody would ever buy groceries online" kills me. My neighbor said the same thing to me back in 2005. Now I see her curbside pickup order every Thursday. What worked for me was just letting her laugh and showing her my first delivery. Once she saw how easy it was she tried it herself. People hate being wrong but they love convenience more.
