That 1995 magazine article claiming we'd all have flying cars by 2015
I ran into a guy at a garage sale in Lincoln, Nebraska last summer who was trying to sell a box of old Popular Mechanics magazines for $50. He pointed to a 1995 issue that said flying cars would be in every driveway by 2015. I asked him if he still believed that and he just laughed and said 'my driveway still has a muddy pothole in it.' It sticks with me because he was so serious about selling that magazine as if it was some lost treasure. Has anyone else found an old prediction that made you chuckle?

Maybe he knew it was more about the dream than the reality.

The whole "dream vs reality" thing gets brought up a LOT, but I think people miss the REAL point. 2019 was the year he literally rebuilt his ENTIRE game from scratch. He changed his swing, his approach, everything. That isn't something you do if you're just chasing some fuzzy dream. You do that because you KNOW reality has to change. So maybe he saw the trophy as more than just a dream. Maybe he saw it as the ONLY possible outcome from all that hard work, not some nice idea.
