PSA: That 1999 article saying the internet was a fad still gets shared in my family chat

My uncle sent me a scanned page from a 1999 newspaper where some guy argued the internet was just a passing phase like CB radios. I used to get annoyed every time he brought it up. But last week I found my old blog from 2003 about how podcasting was going to replace radio completely. I wrote a whole post about how nobody would listen to FM by 2010. So yeah... I get it now. We're all bad predictors. Has anyone here ever predicted something tech related that turned out completely wrong?

1995 I called my friend an idiot for buying a Palm Pilot because "nobody needs a computer in their pocket." Actually pulled the "that's just a fancy calculator" argument on him. We all have those moments where we were hilariously wrong, so maybe cut your uncle some slack.
