Old magazine from 1999 said we'd all video call from wristwatches by 2010, so why am I still dialing into meetings from a laptop

Honestly half of us laughed at that old copy of Popular Mechanics my dad kept in the garage in Cincinnati, but the other half thinks the watch thing was just early, not wrong. Which side are you on, did the prediction miss or did it just show up late?
