My TIG welds looked terrible until I tried a new gas lens setup

Spent a year fighting with a standard #12 cup on aluminum, getting porosity everywhere. Swapped to a Furick gas lens last month and suddenly my beads went from trash to passable in three tries. Has anyone else had a simple hardware change save them that much headache?

Totally with you here @felixward, I used to think gas lenses were overhyped but now I won't weld aluminum without one. That first clean bead after switching blew my mind.

Wait, you had porosity on aluminum with a standard cup too? Honestly, the gas lens is a game changer. The coverage is way more consistent, especially on corners. I switched to a #10 gas lens and my welds stopped looking like swiss cheese.
