My dad swore the internet would never replace newspapers

Back in 1998 he clipped an article saying online news was a fad for geeks and would die out by 2005. Fast forward to 2024 and he gets all his news from Facebook like everyone else. What do you think made the old guard so confident the web was just a passing trend?

You remember that guy who insisted the internet was just a phase? I had a buddy who ran a small print shop, and he laughed off building a website until 2006. Now he gets all his customers through Google and barely touches a printing press.

Poor guy learned the hard way. @susanh46, it's wild how many small business owners just didn't see it coming. At least he got there eventually.
