Ken Olsen quote looked dumb for years, but now I get it
Found a 1977 article where the DEC boss said no one needs a computer at home. I used to laugh about that at work, but last week I spent 2 hours fixing my neighbor's smart thermostat that freaked out after a firmware update. It needed a $90 hub just to talk to their phone, and the old one worked fine with a simple switch. Who else has an old tech prediction that suddenly makes sense because modern gear is overly complicated?
