Just hit 500 dead links on my old tech blog and it got me thinking

I started going through my tech prediction blog from 2008 and found over 500 broken links to articles about how the iPhone would flop and how streaming would never replace DVDs. It took me three weekends with a broken link checker tool to map them all out. The funny part is half those dead sites were predicting the death of things that are now totally normal. Has anyone else gone back and counted how many old predictions just vanished from the web entirely?

Man that 2008 era of tech blogging was something else. Everyone was so sure the App Store would never catch on and that physical media was the future somehow. I bet if you checked the Wayback Machine half those authors probably switched to selling crypto courses by 2013 or just vanished completely. The internet has a real habit of eating its own predictions.
