I finally tried that "put your phone in airplane mode" trick for internet speed
I read an old 2015 article that claimed putting your phone in airplane mode for 30 seconds would fix slow WiFi. Sounded like total nonsense honestly. But my internet was crawling at 2 Mbps last Tuesday so I gave it a shot. Restarted the connection somehow and got 45 Mbps after. Has anyone else noticed this actually does something or am I imagining it?

The airplane mode trick is basically a software reset for your wifi radio, but most people don't realize it also forces your phone to reassign the local IP address. Sometimes routers get stuck on a wonky DHCP lease and a fresh handshake can clear that bottleneck. Did you check if your router was being overloaded by too many connected devices before you did the reset?

Oh man, I read somewhere that the airplane mode thing works because it resets the wifi antenna and clears out any glitches in the radio signal. I've seen it boost my speed too, especially when my connection feels laggy at home. Pretty wild that such a simple trick actually has some science behind it.
