Found a 1998 article saying the internet was a passing fad, framed it
Digging through my uncle's basement in Akron last month, I found a Business Weekly piece from March 1998 where some tech analyst said online retail would never top 2% of sales. I framed it next to my desk because my last three orders were all online, including a $400 bike part from a shop in Oregon. Reading it now feels like a tiny win, like we proved the doubters wrong without even trying. Anyone else keep old bad predictions as motivation or just to laugh?

Ha, that analyst probably had a Myspace page within five years too. It's funny how the loudest "this won't last" takes always come from people who somehow kept their jobs anyway. I don't frame bad predictions, but I do love reading old magazine covers that said the web was a toy for nerds. My favorite is when they'd quote some expert saying nobody would ever type their credit card into a computer. Tell that to the hundreds of dollars I drop online every month without blinking. Your uncle's basement turned out to be a time capsule of pure confidence and zero clue.
