Found a 1980s article saying PCs would never catch on in homes

I was cleaning out my grandma's attic last Sunday and found a newspaper clipping from 1983. The article quoted some IBM executive saying home computers were just a fad for hobbyists and would never be useful for regular families. I laughed so hard because I was literally standing there holding my smartphone that has 100,000 times more power than those old machines. Has anyone else stumbled across these ancient predictions while cleaning?

Maybe cover the article in clear archival plastic so it doesn't yellow more.

Honestly, you should definitely get some of those acid-free sleeves from a craft store. I've been through this with old newspapers and regular plastic will actually make them yellow faster over time. Ngl, I made that mistake with a 1970s magazine I found and now it's all brittle and gross. Plus store it flat in a box somewhere dark and dry, not folded up. Tbh that clipping is a cool piece of tech history, so it's worth keeping it safe if you want it to last another 40 years. Just don't leave it in direct sunlight or a damp basement or it'll turn to dust real quick.
