Appreciation post: my 1998 palm pilot still outlives my smartphone
My work phone died after 2 years, but the old Palm Pilot in my desk drawer still turns on. Those 90s ads promised we'd all switch to tablets by 2010, and here I am charging my phone twice a day. Anyone else keep a relic around that beats the modern stuff?

Is it just me, or does it feel like everything made these days is built to be thrown away, while the older stuff was built to last? That Palm Pilot is a good reminder that we traded durability for fancy screens and constant updates.
