Warning: That $30 Amazon HDMI cable ruined my whole game night setup
I grabbed a cheap 6 foot HDMI 2.1 cable off Amazon for my PS5 last month. First few days it worked fine, but then my screen started flickering during intense gaming sessions. Turns out the cable couldn't handle the full bandwidth and was dropping signal. I swapped it for a $15 Monoprice one from a local shop and it's been solid for 3 weeks now. Has anyone else had a cheap cable mess up their 4K or 120Hz experience?

Man that sucks, I feel your pain. Had the exact same thing happen with a cheap 8K rated cable from Amazon when I got my Xbox Series X. Worked fine at first then started giving me black screens every 10 minutes in the middle of Halo matches. Swapped it out for a Cable Matters one from Best Buy and zero issues since. It's crazy how much difference a properly built cable makes even when they advertise the same specs.

Ha, classic. Paying extra for the "premium" Amazon basics cable that's really just the same AliExpress stuff in different packaging.
It's like those budget HDMI cables are designed to work perfectly during the return window and then fall apart right after.
I swear the manufacturers have a secret meeting where they plan exactly when the signal will start freaking out during a boss fight or the last 2 minutes of a movie.
