The tape measure trick that saved my roof bid last month
I was measuring a re-roof job out in El Paso and kept coming up short on the hip lengths. After three tries I was ready to just guess, but my guy Tony said to pull the tape along the slope instead of level across the ground. It added 14 feet to the total and the client's blueprints matched. Anyone else found a measuring habit that changes your numbers depending on how you hold the tool?

Measure along the slope every time, flat tapes lie to you.
