Spent $90 on a cheap air fryer from a guy at a flea market in Fresno and it outlasted my fancy one
Everybody in my group chat swears you need to drop $250 on a name brand one, and I think that is a load of garbage. I grabbed this no name $90 fryer from a guy in a folding chair about 14 months back, and it still runs like the day I plugged it in, while my buddy's pricey one started peeling after half a year. The trick is I never put it in the dishwasher and I wipe it out after every single use, which takes like 20 seconds. So what is the real reason the cheap ones keep beating the big ones, is it just a batch thing or is the whole premium markup a scam?
What part of the fancy one started peeling, the coating inside the basket or the outside shell? I ask because the inside coating is the whole ballgame, and once it flakes you are eating it. Did your buddy ever run his through the dishwasher or soak it overnight? That stuff strips the nonstick fast, and a lot of those pricey units tell you to hand wash anyway.
