I dropped $45 on a mini fridge for my room after my roommate kept eating my leftovers, and now I'm wondering if that was the dumb move
So my roommate Kevin has this habit of "borrowing" my food and never replacing it, and after the third time he ate my leftover pad thai from this place down the street I kind of snapped. I went to Walmart and got a small 3.2 cubic foot fridge for $45 and stuck it in my room, mostly just to keep my stuff safe. It worked great for two weeks until my electric bill went up like $18 that month and Kevin started joking that I was "hiding snacks like a raccoon." Now the thing hums so loud I can hear it over my TV at night, and honestly I'm not sure saving my leftovers was worth losing sleep and extra cash. I've tried the whole label your food thing and the passive aggressive sticky notes, neither worked. Has anyone else gone the personal fridge route and did it actually make things better or did it just make the roommate situation weirder? I'm honestly thinking about just splitting a shared grocery bill with him instead at this point.
