Tried watching The Room with friends last night after years of thinking it was just bad cinema.
I always thought people were joking about how funny it is, but the whole room was crying laughing at that rooftop scene within 20 minutes. Has anyone else been converted by a specific movie night pick?

The rooftop scene is where I lost it too but it was the "I did not hit her" part that broke me. My buddy paused it and we rewound it like 5 times because none of us could breathe. How does someone deliver a line that bad with that much confidence. The football throwing in the alley made me question if it was all a performance art piece.

People really be analyzing this like it's a David Lynch film though.

The rooftop scene is where it clicked for me too, and @hugo_ellis is right about that alley football bit making you question everything. I ended up pulling out my phone halfway through to check if it was actually a comedy, because there's no way someone makes a movie that bad by accident. It turned into one of those nights where you're not sure if you're laughing at the movie or with it, but you're definitely having the best time.
