TIL my buddy was right about watching The Room with a group, not solo

My friend Dave kept telling me to save The Room for a bad movie night with people. I watched it alone last year and thought it was just boring and sad. Last weekend I finally did a group watch with 6 of us and some pizza and wow it was completely different. The jokes hit way harder and we were throwing spoons at the screen. Has anyone else had a movie totally change for you depending on who you watch it with?

Yeah I heard someone say you gotta "embrace the badness" with a crowd and that's so true. I watched it alone first and just felt kinda depressed honestly, like why is this guy so weird and why is the plot going nowhere. But with my friends we were all cracking up at the terrible acting and the weird little subplots that go nowhere. It's like the movie needs the energy of other people laughing at it to work. Without that it's just a sad mess. I think the spoon throwing is basically required at this point too.
