My projector bulb died 20 minutes into Birdemic, at my own party

Hosted a bad movie night last month for about 12 people. Everything was set. Pizza, beer, the works. I fired up my old Epson projector and we got through the opening credits of Birdemic when the screen just went white. I checked the lamp light, sure enough it was blinking. I had a spare bulb in the closet but it was a different model, I forgot I replaced the projector two years ago. So I had to scramble and put my 32 inch TV on the coffee table. Half the group sat on the floor squinting, the other half leaned against the wall. Honestly, the tiny screen almost made the movie funnier, but I felt bad. Anyone else have a tech fail ruin a planned movie night? How did you fix it fast?
