Hit 50 bad movies logged last Friday and somehow that felt like a real accomplishment
I started keeping a little notebook of every bad movie we watch on Fridays, mostly so we would stop re-watching the same junk. Last Friday we hit number 50 with a double feature of "The Room" and "Troll 2" and I actually felt weirdly proud writing it down. Took us about 14 months to get there, one movie a week with a few skips for holidays and one guy's wedding. The rule is simple: it has to be bad enough that nobody would watch it alone, but fun enough that we are still quoting it by Sunday. Somewhere around number 40 we stopped picking movies by title and started picking by the box art, which has been a disaster and a blast at the same time. For the folks who track their bad movie nights, do you count re-watches or only new ones?
Wait, did you see that thing going around about the guy who watched nothing but bad movies for a whole year and ranked them all? He said he counted re-watches separate but only if the group found something new to laugh at. That seems like a fair rule to me since a re-watch with fresh jokes basically feels like a new night. We count them in our group but we put a little star next to it so we know it's a repeat. Fifty in 14 months is solid work though, and picking by box art is the best terrible idea I've heard all week.
