Heard someone in line at the gas station say 'The Room is the best movie ever made' and I almost spit out my coffee

I was at a Shell station off I-94 last Tuesday, waiting to pay. This guy in front of me was telling his friend that The Room is the best movie ever made. Not ironically, not as a joke. He was dead serious. I stood there for a second thinking... is he right? Like, in a so-bad-it's-good way, it's definitely up there. But best ever? I don't know. I've watched that movie with buddies at least 4 times now and we still lose it at the football scene. Doesn't matter how many times you've seen it, that part gets everyone. What other bad movies have that kind of staying power? Like, ones you can watch over and over and still laugh at the same dumb parts?

Ha, well I guess that makes me a hypocrite since I once told a guy at a bar that Battlefield Earth was actually kind of fun. I've seen The Room maybe six times and I still lose it at the "you're tearing me apart Lisa" part like it's the first time. Funny how the worst movies sometimes end up being the ones you can watch forever.
