Had a guy at a flea market in Ohio tell me my favorite bad movie was actually a masterpiece
I was digging through VHS tapes last weekend at this huge flea market outside Columbus, and this older dude saw me holding up a copy of "The Room" and just started laughing. He said "You know, that movie is so bad it circles back to genius, like a car crash you can't look away from." We ended up talking for like 20 minutes about how Tommy Wiseau's accent makes every line gold. Anyone else have a stranger give you a new way to look at a cheesy flick?

That flea market guy is onto something for real though. "The Room" is like a car crash where the driver is trying to win a demolition derby trophy but keeps missing every other car. Tommy Wiseau's accent is pure poetry from some alternate dimension where English was invented by accident. People who call it just "bad" haven't sat through the 20 minute long sex scenes that feel like a hostage situation for your eyes. Your buddy should start a podcast defending Nic Cage in "Con Air" I'd subscribe to that.

Wait, so you're telling me there's a guy out there who thinks "The Room" is a legit masterpiece and not just two hours of pure chaos? Bet he'd probably defend Nicolas Cage's accent in "Con Air" as high art too. Man, I bet that conversation was wild - Tommy Wiseau's accent alone makes the movie worth watching just to figure out what planet he's from.
