Found out the shark in that one movie was a real dead one, not animatronics

Tbh I was watching the special features on the 1975 Jaws rip-off and read that they literally used a real rotting shark corpse for half the scenes, has anyone else stumbled on a behind the scenes fact that made the bad movie even weirder?

The rotting shark corpse thing is a CLASSIC trap in older monster movies. Half the time they used the real dead one because the fake ones looked so awful in the water that the crew just said screw it, let's film the smelly one. I've been burned by this same thing with a piranha flick where the "swarm" was just a bunch of dead fish tossed in a tank, and you can TELL because they float weirdly. My advice is to always check the IMDB trivia page BEFORE you watch a bad movie, that way you can play Bingo with the gross facts while you watch. Also, if you ever find yourself on a set with a dead animal, do NOT stand downwind, I learned that the hard way and my clothes smelled for a week. It makes the movie weirdly better though, knowing some poor intern had to poke a corpse to make it look alive.
