Am I the only one who didn't know the 'so bad it's good' rule only works if everyone's in on it?
Three Fridays ago my buddy picked a movie none of us had heard of, some 2003 straight-to-DVD vampire thing we found at a thrift store in Columbus for 50 cents. Ten minutes in, two people were on their phones and one guy kept saying 'this is just bad bad' and asking if we could switch to something else. Turns out the whole fun comes from everyone leaning in and yelling at the screen together, not from the movie itself being trash. We made a group rule after that night: nobody gets to pick unless they can name one scene they're excited to roast. Last week we did a giant shark movie and it was the best two hours of my month, snacks and all. So how do you all handle the friend who keeps checking their phone during the boring parts? Do you call them out or just let it ride?
