Question everyone I know says I should just use zip ties but I'm team velcro straps
My buddy Mark who works in IT came over to help me with my desk setup last month. He looked at my cables and said just use zip ties, they're cheaper and cleaner. But I swear everytime I use zip ties I end up cutting them off a week later when I need to move something. Like last week I had to swap out my monitor and had to dig out my scissors for three different zip ties. Has anyone else dealt with this? Which side are you on?

the little plastic landmines thing got me, oh my god. i literally have a scar on my thumb from getting jabbed by a trimmed zip tie end that I missed. my buddy tried to sell me on the "flush cutters" argument but I'm sorry who has time to buy specialized hardware store tools for cable management. velcro is just the way to go, you can wrap it around itself a hundred times and it still works.

Wait, your buddy in IT hasn't learned that zip ties are basically temporary cutting torture devices? I'm convinced they're designed by the same people who make those plastic clamshell packages that draw blood every time you open them. Velcro straps are just the obvious choice unless you enjoy playing "where did I put the scissors" every time you need to swap a cable. I still have a drawer full of half-cut zip ties from my last desk reorg, they're like little plastic landmines.
