Pro tip: those fancy magnetic cable clips are a trap

Bought a 6 pack of those magnetic cable holders for like $18 and they fell off my desk within 2 days. The adhesive just couldnt handle the weight of my monitor cable plus a couple USB cords. Tried cleaning the surface with alcohol and everything, still popped right off. Has anyone found a brand that actually sticks, or should I just go back to zip ties?
