My electrician laughed at my power strip daisy chain, and I get why now

I had four power strips plugged into each other behind my desk in Denver, each one overflowing with chargers and monitor cables, and I thought it was fine for about a year. My electrician came by to swap a breaker and just stared at the mess, saying one strip feeding three others was asking for a fire, so I spent $34 on a single 12 outlet rack mount strip plus velcro ties. What do you all do when there are never enough outlets and the wall is nowhere near the desk?
