I finally cleaned up the cable nest behind my TV after 5 months of "I'll do it Sunday"
Back in March my girlfriend tripped over the power strip behind our TV stand in our apartment in Denver and knocked the whole thing over. I looked back there and it was a mess: 14 cables, two extension cords, and a router just sitting on top of a shoe box. I told her I would fix it that weekend, but then work got busy and it sat there for 5 months. Last Saturday I finally went to the hardware store and spent $22 on velcro ties, a cable sleeve, and a pack of adhesive clips. It took me about 90 minutes to unplug everything, untangle the mess, and route each cord along the back leg of the stand. The router now sits on a small shelf I screwed into the wall, and the power strip is mounted underneath so nothing touches the floor. Now I keep looking behind the TV just to see how clean it is, which is weird I know. What is your go to trick for keeping the cords from creeping back into a pile?
