I actually prefer the old twist-tie method over zip ties for cable management
I know everyone on here loves those velcro straps and zip ties, but I switched back to twist ties about 6 months ago after a frustrating evening. I was reorganizing behind my desk in my apartment in Austin, and those zip ties kept cutting into my fingers when I had to undo them to add a new cable. Plus I kept overtightening them and crushing the cables. Twist ties from bread bags work fine, you just twist them on and off in seconds. Has anyone else gone back to a simpler method?

Honestly, troy996 hit the nail right on the head. We get so caught up in buying the newest fancy gear we forget the simple stuff that just works. Ngl, I've started using old bread ties for everything too, not just cables. I even use them to keep extension cords from tangling, and they're way gentler on the wire than those hard plastic zip ties that snap when you look at them wrong. Tbh, it's like everyone forgot that sometimes the cheapest solution is the best one, right?

Is it just me or does EVERYTHING get overcomplicated when people stop thinking about what actually works?
