I kept blaming my router for buffering so I drove to Best Buy in Fresno and dropped $120 on a three pack mesh system. Got home, set it all up, still buffering. Finally pulled my TV stand out and saw a rats nest of 14 cords back there, including the coax running right along the power strip, all coiled and stacked on top of each other. Moved the coax away from the power cables, zip tied the mess, and the buffering just stopped. Anyone else buy new gear when the real fix was just untangling what you already had?
My dad bought a $200 wifi extender last year for his garage TV and the thing still cut out every night around 9pm. Turns out his neighbor's old cordless phone base was sitting on the same shelf as his router, and once he moved it two feet the problem went away. Funny how often the cheap fix is just moving stuff around instead of buying more stuff.
