Changed my mind about zip ties after a buddy called me out

My friend Mike from work came over to help me set up my home theater last month and saw I had a HUGE mess of zip tied cables behind my TV stand. He said I was just making future headaches for myself because every time something needs to swap out, I'd have to cut and redo everything. I thought he was overreacting until my soundbar died after 3 weeks and I had to snip through 14 zip ties just to unplug it. Now I'm using velcro wraps from Harbor Freight and it's so much easier to reroute stuff. Anyone else ditch zip ties for something more forgiving?

Totally agree with @wesleyjohnson about that silicone stretchy kind, those have been a game changer for my speaker wires. I switched after getting fed up with velcro pads losing their stick after a couple months in my dusty entertainment center. They hold tight but pop right off when I need to swap out a streaming stick or something.

Funny thing nobody mentions about zip ties is they breed when you're not looking (seriously, I found a bag of them from 2019 I forgot about). Velcro is great until it gets dusty and loses grip after a few swaps, so I've been using those silicone cable ties you get in bulk packs online. They stretch tight enough to bundle but untwist instantly, plus they're reusable until the cat decides they're a chew toy.
