Why does nobody mention rooster poop on porch steps is a hazard

I slipped on my own rooster's pile at 6am last Tuesday while carrying feed and broke my ankle, then realized I'd been letting him free range the front yard for two years without ever thinking about the walkway, so has anyone else dealt with a bird that just refuses to use the dirt patch?
