Unpopular opinion: I stopped using pine shavings in my coop after a wet spring in Portland

The dampness just made them moldy and stink, so I switched to sand and it's been way easier to clean. Has anyone else tried a different bedding that works better in rainy areas?

How often do you have to sift or change that sand out?

I used to think it was a lot of work, but @tylerw92, you barely touch it once it's set up right.

Oh man, that reminds me of when my neighbor tried straw and it just turned into a giant wet brick.
