My neighbor in Fresno told me my hens were "egg factories" and it bugged me for a week
He leaned over the fence while I was refilling their waterer and asked how many eggs I get a day, like that was the only reason to keep them. Thing is, two of my five are old rescue hens that barely lay at all, and I still bring them scraps and hang out with them on the patio. Does anyone else keep birds just for the company, or am I the weird one on my block?
