Update: That overgrown path behind the creek actually leads to a gorgeous meadow

I almost skipped it because it looked messy, but pushing through was worth it. Now I'm wondering if there are more hidden gems like that on old maps.

Not to rain on your parade, but a meadow is just a field with flowers, lol. Those are all over the place if you go hiking enough. Pushing through messy paths sounds like a lot of work for something you can see elsewhere. Old maps might show old trails, but most cool spots are already found by now. Sometimes people make a big deal out of normal stuff just because it felt like a find. Still, glad you liked it, but it's not that deep, lmao.

Consider how many hidden spots get ruined once they go viral online, turning quiet places into crowded messes. The act of finding something secret makes people want to share it, but then it's not special anymore. Old maps might lead to overgrown trails, but half the fun is in the struggle to get there, lol. Honestly, most 'finds' are just regular nature spots with a good story attached.
