TIL the Sierra High Route isn't just for elite hikers
I always thought the Sierra High Route was way above my skill level. Tough routefinding, off-trail sections, serious exposure. Last June I did a 4-day section near Bishop Pass anyway. Turns out half of it is just class 2 talus hopping. Not as scary as the blogs made it sound. I took it slow and used guidebook notes from Roper's book. Changed my mind completely. Has anyone else found a route that sounded harder than it actually was?
