PSA: My map reading skills were a total joke on the Teton Crest Trail

I spent a whole day convinced a peak was Mt. Meek because that's what my crumpled map said, until a ranger asked why I kept calling it that. Turns out I'd been holding the map upside down since Wyoming. Anyone else have a navigation fail that silly?

How do you even get a paper map upside down for a whole state? That's kind of impressive, honestly. My fail was staring at my phone GPS for ten minutes waiting for the blue dot to move before realizing I'd never turned location services on. At least your way was more creative.

Wyoming's a big place to have a map upside down, that's a new one. @wright.cole, at least your GPS just needed a button, my buddy once followed a deer trail for two hours thinking it was the main path.
