Mile 42 to mile 48 on the Ozark Trail, night and day after one rains storm

Hit the same stretch last fall and it was a swampy mess, took me 5 hours to do 6 miles. This weekend after the dry spell, same 6 miles in 3 hours flat. Anyone else track time on repeat sections to see how conditions shift things?
