I was totally wrong about the Teton Crest Trail being overhyped

I hiked it last July expecting crowds and disappointment, but the scenery past Hurricane Pass completely changed my mind. Has anyone else had a route prove them wrong like that?

Totally get that feeling. Read a bunch of negative stuff online about the Enchantments being too hard for the payoff. Finally did it last fall and the larches were just... wow. Sometimes you just have to see a place for yourself.

And @ninas70 probably had that same doubt about the Tetons, but the larches make you forget everything else. Sometimes the hardest hikes end up being the best memories.

Wait you hiked the Teton Crest Trail in JULY? Honestly I'm shocked you didn't get eaten alive by bugs. I did a section in late June once and the mosquitoes were a biblical plague, like clouds of them. Tbh I spent more time swatting than looking at the views. How did you deal with that?
