Warning: Bought a $300 signal generator on Amazon and it was junk out of the box
Spent my whole Saturday troubleshooting a radio issue that ended up being the test gear itself, not the aircraft. Anyone else get burned by cheap test equipment from online retailers?

Dropped a $20 oscilloscope probe and the tip literally snapped off like it was made of chalk.

Bought a $40 multimeter from the same place and it read 12 volts when I touched it to a dead 9 volt battery. Took me three hours of checking fuses on my truck before I realized the meter was the problem. Threw it in the trash and got a Fluke from a proper electronics store. Cheap test gear is NOT worth the headache when you're trying to fix something important. I swear Amazon is just a giant garage sale for knockoff electronics that barely work. Learned my lesson the hard way too, just like you did.
