Torque seal vs. fingernail polish on cannon plugs, one of them cost me a rework
I used to grab whatever nail polish was in the drawer for torque seal on cannon plugs until a QA guy flagged a whole rack of connectors last month. He could not tell if I had applied the seal before or after the final torque because the polish was so thin it just looked like wear. Switched to actual torque seal with the brush cap and you can see a clean break line when something moves. Had 14 connectors on that rack and only 2 were actually loose, but the inspector made me redo all 14 because he could not verify any of them. Took me about 90 minutes of extra work for a $12 bottle of the right stuff. Anyone else run into this or am I the only one who tried to save a trip to the crib?
