The Tuesday I traced a ghost squawk for 6 hours and it was a loose tray latch
Had one of those days last Tuesday where a squawk on a King Air kept coming back no matter what I did. Pilot wrote up a random AHRS flag that only popped up in climbs above 12,000 feet, so I reseated every connector behind the panel twice and swapped the LRU with a known good unit from the shelf. Still there. I must have run the built in test 9 or 10 times and it passed every single one, which was driving me up the wall. Turned out the avionics tray latch was loose enough that the connector was vibrating just enough at altitude to drop a pin or two, and I found it by accident when I bumped the rack with my knee. Tightened the latch, re-ran the BITE, and the flag never came back on the next 3 flights. Anybody else got a favorite trick for chasing those altitude or vibration only gremlins before you start pulling half the panel apart?
