That $150 ultrasonic cleaner I bought for connectors turned out to be a dud
Picked up a cheap ultrasonic cleaner last month to get old cannon plugs clean before re-pinning them. Tried it on a basket of contacts with the right solution and timer settings, but the crud barely lifted and two contacts came out worse with residue. Took one apart and the transducer was barely glued in, probably why it vibrated weak from day one. I know the pro units run way more, but has anyone found a mid-range cleaner that actually handles aviation-grade grime without breaking the bank?
That transducer being barely glued in is a real thing, but its usually the cheap ones that skip the locktite, not a sign the brand is bad overall. Faulty unit maybe? I'd return it if you still can.
