Swapped my decade old Fluke 87 for a $40 pocket meter from Home Depot and I feel kind of dumb about it
For 11 years I lugged the same Fluke 87 on every ramp check at the hangar in Burbank, mostly out of habit since my old shop lead handed it to me on day one. Last month my leads finally crapped out mid shift and I grabbed a cheap little Klein meter at Home Depot just to finish the night, and honestly it read the same 28 volts on the pitot heat circuit without me digging through a menu. Anyone else here running a cheap meter as their daily and saving the good one for bench work, or am I going to regret this when something actually gets weird?

Used a freebie Harbor Freight meter for two years after mine walked off and it never let me down once.
